Schaeffler locations: More than 5000 charging stations worldwide by 2030

The motion technology company Schaeffler is continuing to drive forward the expansion of the charging infrastructure at its locations. More than 5,000 additional charging points for electric vehicles are to be installed worldwide by 2030. 3000 charging points will be built at the European locations alone. The measure is part of Schaeffler’s sustainability program. The Herzogenaurach and Schweinfurt locations are acting as pilots for the technology and the operator model. After the successful test phase, the project will gradually be rolled out in all other regions of the Schaeffler Group. As part of the redesign of a parking lot in Herzogenaurach, 40 charging points were installed, which are initially available to employees free of charge. The charging points used there are the standard model at all Schaeffler locations. They provide up to 22 kilowatts of charging power per column and are to be operated and maintained by an external partner in future. The expansion plan for the Herzogenaurach site envisages the creation of 245 additional charging points for employees, company cars and visitors by 2025. In Schweinfurt, the electrical infrastructure will first be expanded to create a further 122 charging points. Commissioning is planned for 2025.
