SALD and Sienza Enery: New Dutch-Californian battery cooperation

As part of the Dutch battery competence cluster “Climate & Circular Economy United States Netherlandsandyou.nl”, technology incubator SALD B.V. has participated in a letter of intent for cooperation with Sienza Energy, a battery company founded by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Sienza Energy is supported by Los Angeles-based philanthropist Patrick Soon-Shiong, among others. Following their visit to Sienza Energy’s headquarters, Gerard Koning, head of the Dutch delegation, said: “We are very impressed by the unique battery architecture developed by the Sienza Energy team and welcome the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by both parties. We look forward to welcoming Sienza Energy to the Dutch battery manufacturing ecosystem.”

The Dutch government is working with industry, civil society organizations, educational institutions and government agencies to work towards a sustainable environment for the future. In this circular economy, there will be no more waste, as resources will be used again and again.

SALD (www.spatialald.com) has developed “Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition”, a globally unique, patented process for applying coatings on an industrial scale that are as thin as a single atom. These atomic coatings will revolutionize entire industries, including the production of battery cells for cars and smart devices, the textile/fashion industry and the solar energy sector.
