Polestar announces that production of its luxury SUV Polestar 3 has started in South Carolina, USA. This makes the Polestar 3 the first Polestar to be produced on two continents. The plant in South Carolina manufactures vehicles for customers in the USA and Europe and complements the existing production facility in Chengdu, China. Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar: “The production of the Polestar 3 in the USA is a decisive step for us. We are now offering customers in America an electric SUV that is built in America. Exporting the Polestar 3 produced in South Carolina to Europe will strengthen our business on a larger scale. The Polestar 3 has received excellent reviews in the global automotive media and there is great interest from customers in test drives. I am convinced that this is the best looking and driving SUV on the market today.” The company is also taking further steps to diversify its production sites. The Polestar 4 is scheduled to roll off the production line in South Korea in mid-2025.
