ELECTRA-AccorInvest cooperation: high-performance charging stations for hotel parking lots in Germany

AccorInvest, owner, investor and operator of hotels in Europe, has signed an agreement with ELECTRA to equip the outdoor parking lots of hotels with a high-performance charging infrastructure (HPC). Four to six charging points with a capacity of 200 to 400 kW are planned for each location. The first chargers are scheduled to open as early as 2024.

AccorInvest and ELECTRA have been working together successfully in France since 2023. Charging stations with a capacity of 22 to 300 kW have already been installed at a total of 14 locations (72 charging points) and many more will follow. The partners are now expanding their collaboration to the German market. They want to provide drivers of electric vehicles with a simple solution for ultra-fast charging. The fast chargers will not only be accessible for hotel guests, but also for other private individuals or professional fleets (cabs, vehicle-to-grid, logistics, car sharing, etc.) – around the clock.

The charging stations are tailored to the requirements of the individual brands in AccorInvest’s hotel portfolio (ibis, Mercure, Novotel, etc.). The features in the app include navigation to the nearest charging point that is best suited to the vehicle. The reservation of charging stations and charging as well as payment for a flawless charging experience are also planned. During the charging process, users can take advantage of various hotel services, sometimes at a discount. For business fleets, Electra has developed its own tariff system for fleet customers in its app – this includes individual pricing models in which, for example, the price per unit decreases the greater the demand. The system also monitors consumption in real time, provides detailed monthly billing and offers the option of reserving slots per fleet.

“The expansion of our partnership with AccorInvest to the German market is a major milestone for us,” says Kerstin Schmidt, Managing Director of ELECTRA in Germany. “We now have an international partner with several locations across Germany and are also establishing a nationwide ELECTRA network. This will enable numerous users of electric vehicles to find our charging points quickly and reliably.”

“We look forward to expanding our collaboration with ELECTRA to new markets and implementing our ambitious electrification approach,” adds Mario von Hoesslin, Chief Operating Officer Central Europe at AccorInvest. “Through this partnership, which is perfectly aligned with our ESG strategy, we aim to improve mobility between our hotels and provide benefits to electric vehicle users in Germany.”
