On the way to an all-electric vehicle fleet: ID.Buzz Cargo in use by Miele customer service staff

The first five ID. Buzz Cargo are in use. In Gütersloh, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) CEO Carsten Intra and Marketing and Sales Director Lars Krause personally handed over the vehicles. This makes Miele one of the first customers to receive individualised ID. Buzz Cargo at market launch.

“The whole year has already been dominated by the ID. Buzz,” says Carsten Intra. “I am delighted that the moment has finally come to hand over the vehicle to our customers and it is thus hitting the road. With a long-standing partner like Miele, who has been using our Bullis in service virtually since the very beginning, we didn’t miss the opportunity to hand over these first five ID. Miele will use the first vehicles in Germany, Spain, Norway, Great Britain and Austria for customer service. In addition to the special red paint finish typical of Miele, the special customer requirements were also taken into account in a joint development process between Miele, conversion partner Würth and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for these ID. Buzz Cargo, special customer requirements were implemented. For example, the load compartment is equipped ex works with shelving systems for stowing materials, spare parts and tools to meet the requirements of service staff. A centre console with integrated folding table serves as the driver’s workplace. The European trials now beginning will provide valuable insights for the future optimisation and expansion of the customised range of services as well as for the further electrification of Miele’s service fleet.

With the all-electric vans, Miele is taking a further step towards converting its entire fleet to renewable energy. “We have set ourselves the goal of reducing the CO2 emissions of our vehicle fleet by at least 30% by 2030,” explains Rebecca Steinhage, Managing Director Human Resources & Corporate Affairs at Miele. “The ID.
