eMove360° hotel tip for battery charging: Guesthouse “Karl” in Laives near Bolzano

Clear lines, bright rooms and yet as cozy as a friend on the sofa – the Steiner Hotel and Camping Park in Laives near Bolzano blends cherished family tradition with modern style. This also applies to the associated guest house “Karl”, which has just been extensively renovated. It is an integral part of the Hotel Steiner and tells a story steeped in tradition. This is closely linked to the Pfeifer host family. Originally built in the 1950s as a residence by great-uncle Karl, founder and host Fritz soon converted the rooms into accommodation for guests due to high demand. It quickly became an indispensable part of the hotel complex – and yet always remained at the heart of the family. Artist Johanna Pfeifer, sister of senior manager Peter, not only found a refuge in the “Karl” guest house, but also a studio where she created and exhibited her works. Her paintings still adorn the staircase and dining room of the hotel today. Following a comprehensive renovation, “Karl’s” 15 rooms (price: from 48 euros) now shine in modern splendor. “Our guests are delighted with the open living culture in the guest house,” says hotel manager Claudia Pfeifer. “The rooms have become little miracles of space. We have already received many positive reactions, especially to the doorless wardrobes.” Cyclists appreciate the ideal starting point for bike tours in the South Tyrolean countryside – from Merano in the north-west all the way down to Lake Garda. Host Claudia Pfeifer knows where to find the most beautiful tours around Laives. If you fancy a stroll through the town with a Mediterranean flair: A bus to nearby Bolzano departs every ten minutes directly in front of the hotel. Tip for jazz lovers: the South Tyrol Jazz Festival from June 28 to July 7.
