DHL opens the first Center of Excellence for electric mobility in mainland Europe in Pozzuolo Martesana (near Milan, Italy). In collaboration with DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation’s electric vehicle team, it offers DHL Global Forwarding’s combined warehousing and freight management, including sea and air freight services, complemented by DHL Express’ network solutions for global distribution. This state-of-the-art facility, with an area of approximately 10,000 square meters, is a logistics hub designed to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the Italian market and specifically targets the growing electric vehicle industry.

The Center of Excellence for electromobility in Italy comprises inbound and outbound logistics with various modes of transport, warehousing including additional services such as battery testing and charging as well as complete aftermarket management for batteries. This also includes dealer service for warranty claims, battery removal and replacement. In addition to these key benefits, customers enjoy seamless integration into a pan-European network designed for lithium batteries. In addition to a modern warehouse, the site offers extensive energy storage capacities and specialized services tailored to two-wheelers. In addition, the Center of Excellence for electromobility has temperature and humidity-controlled rooms, providing a holistic solution that includes facilities for both normal and hazardous materials. The services are provided by trained teams from the electric vehicle industry; for air freight tasks, customers can rely on teams that are IATA CEIV certified.
