The “NIO House Amsterdam” has officially opened its doors. The opening event was attended by the founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, William Li, co-founder and president Qin Lihong, representatives of NIO’s European user community and over 200 partners and guests. William Li and Ruben Keuter, General Manager of NIO Netherlands, jointly performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony. It is the 154th NIO House worldwide since the opening of the first NIO House Beijing Oriental Plaza in November 2017.
NIO House Amsterdam is located in the historic Metz building at Leidsestraat 32-34 in the center of Amsterdam, close to Keizersgracht, Dam Square and the Royal Palace. Built in 1891, the Metz building is a listed building and was the tallest private building in Amsterdam at the time. It witnessed numerous important cultural and social events in Dutch and European history.
In collaboration with the renowned Dutch architecture firm MVRDV, NIO has revitalized the Metz building. MVRDV has added NIO’s unique design elements to the building, merging the modern style with the building’s classic façade and enhancing its transparency and artistic appeal. The eight-story, 2,700-square-meter space offers an immersive experience that includes car viewing, dining, office space, childcare, exhibitions, lectures, relaxation, reading and socializing. Each floor is designed around a different theme based on the user community, offering visitors different city views and experiences. NIO has also introduced a special mocktail, the ‘Tulips from Amsterdam’, which is served exclusively at NIO House Amsterdam in the café area.
